  3. Put your blog name and URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the the button up there and place it in a post (so people can say hi in the comments!).
  5. Follow, follow, follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just only a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs! Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI!"
  6. If someone comments and follows you, share the love! Follow them back ;)
  7. If you're new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let Parajunkee & Alison know, so they can stop by and check out your blog!
Q. If you could have dinner with your favourite book character, who would you eat with and what would you serve?

A: It's impossible to pick just one favourite character! Can I just do some speed-eating with all of them? x) Or better yet, let's have a feast!

But if I had to choose... I'd have to pick Jace from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I remember one scene in City of Bones when he took Clary and everyone to a cool Downworld restaurant coconut pancakes plus sarcastic conversations sounds like a good combo to me!

What about you? :)

Q. What superhero is your alter-ego?

A: I just love this question! My uncle is total comic book lover so he always gets us into all those superhero movies and such, so you can bet I love them too!

Honestly, though? I have no clue what superhero would represent me! Probably Superwoman because I'm all about girl power. Or maybe Kitty from X-Men because she was always my favourite (and I would love to be able to walk through walls)!

Q. If you could have characters from a particular book meet and form an epic storyline with characters from a particular TV series, which would you choose and why?

A: Okay, now this is a hard question! I don't know, but I think I prefer my TV shows and books separate they're all super cool on their own!

But right now, I'm in love with The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle TV shows! I think either of them would be pure EPICNESS with Divergent by Veronica Roth or The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Just because I'd love to see vampires or witches in a cool dystopian book!

Q. If you could pick one character in a book, movie, or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

A: There are so many characters I'd love to swap places with that it's so hard to choose just one! So I'll make another list (because lists seem to be my new thing LOL):
  1. Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare : Being a kick-butt Shadowhunter like Isabelle would be so awesome!
  2. Anna Oliphant from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins : Oh my gosh, who doesn't want an amazing American-English-French boy like St. Clair? And to live in Paris, even if just for a little while? That's my dream!
  3. Cammie Morgan from the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter : It would be SO AMAZING to go to an all-girls boarding school for spies!
  4. Clara Gardner from Unearthly by Cynthia Hand : I want my own Tucker! And I love the idea of being an angel-blood with a purpose on earth. :)

Q. What book that hasn't been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?

A: A book I want turned into movie? I have to say that's a hard one! Whenever I read a book, I always picture it as a movie in my mind so I'm always afraid that a real movie adaptation wouldn't live up to my expectations!

But I'll admit that there are tons I'd love to be adapted onto the big screen, like Julie Kagawa's The Iron Fey series or Divergent by Veronica Roth! Not sure who I'd choose as actors, though I'm pretty picky with that kind of stuff! x)

A: Oh my gosh, almost every single book I read makes me want to step into their reality which always sounds so much cooler than our boring ever day life!

But I guess, if I had to choose, it'd be The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare! Because it's one of my favourites of all time and the world is just so compelling with all of the Shadowhunters, warlocks, werewolves, faeries and vamps oh, and Jace! :)

Q: Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?

A: Have I ever mentioned how awful I am at thinking of examples on the spot? Because I really am! I'm pretty sure there was at least one super-awesome villain I loved before, but I just can't remember one right now.

Then again, I think it really depends. Sometimes I want to have everything work out for the main protagonist, yet other times I just can't hate the bad guy (writer's intention or otherwise). And the villain winning in the end? How often does that happen? Pretty twisted! I'm a "happy endings" sort of person, but I definitely like my fair share of surprising twists! :)

Follow Friday #14

Hi, guys!

For those who don't know, Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by the super-duper awesome Parajunkee & Alison Can Read! It's a great way to meet new people and expand your list of friends over Blogger, and it's really easy to join, too! :)

Q: If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?

A: This is a really hard question! Even though there are times where I really want to change a character's bad decision (or when I want the heroine to end up with the other guy in a love triangle), I can't really think of a book where an ending bugged me enough that I'd want to completely change it.

But one thing that makes me really anxious is a cliffhanger ending. Because then we have to wait so long for the next book to come out, and it always feels like a lifetime!

What about you? :)

Q: In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series, the paranormal creature in question "comes out of the closet" and makes itself known to the world. What mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

A: Oh my gosh, if any paranormal/mythical creature came out of the closet, it would be insanely awesome! But I have to say that I'd really want to publicly hang out with shifters and witches because they're just so cool!

I'm not so sure about faeries because they're kind of slippery in that sneaky sort of way. But I wouldn't mind having vampire friends either as long as they don't take their debut into society as a chance to drink some public blood!

What about you? :)

Q: If you could write yourself a part in a book, what book would it be and what role would you play in that book?

A: Now this is a tough question! I think that everyone would want to be the main character in their own story, supernatural or otherwise. Anything other than boring everyday life! ;)

But if I'd have to choose, I think I'd write myself as a kick-butt teenage Shadowhunter in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. Because I love the thought of demon slaying and I just adore the whole supernatural concept of the world!

Q: How have your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen, what new genres are you in love with currently?

A: Since I'm still a teenager (fifteen in October!), I really just love anything that has to do with the whole YA range. I'm not that picky as long as the writing is good, the characters are lovable, and the story is intriguing enough to keep me reading.

But lately, I guess I have to say that I've fallen into the dystopian craze because it's just so interesting to read. I also love paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and steampunk. Sorry; I'm really bad at picking one thing out of many!

Q: Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life. Was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader? Did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation? Does it bring you comfort every time you read it?

A: This is a really hard question to answer because I honestly think that each book I read influences me in some way big or small. I'm sure it's the same with a bunch of other people!

But the series that made me stay up several nights in a row thinking about how lucky I was to live in this society instead of a dystopian one was The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I just can't get over how amazing it was! Definitely an eye-opening favourite!

What about you? What book(s) really influenced you? :)

Q: Let's step away from besties... What is the worst book you've ever read and actually finished?

A: The worst book that I've actually finished? Aww, well, I don't really want to be mean, but it just has to be The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein. I was forced to read it last year for English class for our final essay (and the fact that I was forced doesn't make me like it any more). I hated it. Not to offend any Lord of The Rings fans (sorry!), but The Hobbit was the most boring book!

What about you? What book did you really not like but actually finished? :)

Follow Friday #5 & Canada Day!

Hi again, everyone! :)

For those who don't know, Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by the super-duper awesome Parajunkee! It's a great neat way to meet new people and expand your list of friends over Blogger, and it's really easy to join too! :)

Q: ACK! Your favourite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.

A: Ohh, this is another tough question! But I'd have to say that meeting Opal (played by Anna Sophia Robb) from the children's novel Because of Winn Dixie would be so cool! One, because Opal is such a sweet character and two, because I love Anna Sophia Robb. She's such an awesome actress! I'd probably be tripping over myself trying to not act like a fan, when I am ;)

The second character I would flip out to see would be Alice Cullen (played by Ashley Greene) from Twilight (don't judge). Because Alice is exactly the kind of girl I'd want as my little sister, and my first reaction would most likely be to hug her!

PLUS: It's Canada Day today! For all of those other Canadians out there (especially Canadian bloggers, like me!), I hope you have the most amazing day ever! :)

Q: In the Light of the Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer... let's talk about faeries. What is your favourite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fey?

A: Ooh, I used to have this really big thing for faeries! I love both kinds: the tiny little fairies that are the size of half a pencil and flutter around on pixie wings, and the faeries that are (in most stories) sensitive to iron, mystically beautiful, and good at blending in easily with humans.

For question one, my answer would definitely be The Beauty and the Beast. This story is an absolute fave of mine! It's just so sweet and romantic, with characters you can't help but adore. Not only the beautiful Belle and the self-depreciating Beast, but all the talking objects too! It's a cute & fun classic.

Answering the second question, I'd have to say that I love so many faery YA books like The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. But a series like The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare which explores a world with multiple supernatural creatures (vampires, werewolves, warlocks and the like) is fun to read too!

...

Speaking of the awesome Julie Kagawa, she's having a really cool giveaway on her blog in celebration of Faery Day: a chance to win a signed copy of each of her books! *squee!* All you have to do is post your favourite faery quote somewhere via blog, twitter, facebook, etc. More info on her blog here

This is mine, taken from Julie's own first novel, The Iron King:

"Oh, we're playing nice now? Shall we have tea first? Brew up a nice pot of kiss-my-ass?"

Because I have a thing for hilarious boys, and Puck fits perfectly into that category. But I'm still Team Ash ;)

Q: Genre Wars! What's your favourite genre and which book in that genre made it your favourite?

A: Oh, geez, this one's hard! I'm in love with so many different genres as long as they fall into the Young Adult category. But I have to say that the final showdown is between YA urban fantasy and YA dystopian.

For urban fantasy books, The Mortal Instruments series by Cassie Clare has to be one of my favourites of all time but I have to admit that it was The Twilight saga that got me hooked. Actually, Stephenie Meyer's well known books were the ones that made me fall in love with reading in the first place.

And for dystopian, The Hunger Games is the first of the genre that I've read! It literally blew me away, and so many new dystopian novels (like Divergent by Veronica Roth) just keep me wanting more! My shelf is packed with this genre.

I guess I'm pretty mainstream considering that these two are very popular genres as of now, but these books are just so good!

What's your favourite genre? :)
