Follow Friday #3

Hi again, everyone! :)

For those who don't know, Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by the super-duper awesome Parajunkee! It's a great neat way to meet new people and expand your list of friends over Blogger, and it's really easy to join too! :)

All you have to do is:
  1. (Required) Follow Parajunkee at her awesome blog.
  2. (Required) Follow the featured blogger of the week. (Rhiannon Paille)
  3. Put your blog name and URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the the button from Parajunkee's blog and place it in a post (so people can say hi in the comments!).
  5. Follow, follow, follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just only a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs! Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI!"
  6. If someone comments and follows you, share the love! Follow them back ;)
  7. If you're new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let Parajunkee know, so she can stop by and check out your blog!
Q: Genre Wars! What's your favourite genre and which book in that genre made it your favourite?

A: Oh, geez, this one's hard! I'm in love with so many different genres as long as they fall into the Young Adult category. But I have to say that the final showdown is between YA urban fantasy and YA dystopian.

For urban fantasy books, The Mortal Instruments series by Cassie Clare has to be one of my favourites of all time but I have to admit that it was The Twilight saga that got me hooked. Actually, Stephenie Meyer's well known books were the ones that made me fall in love with reading in the first place.

And for dystopian, The Hunger Games is the first of the genre that I've read! It literally blew me away, and so many new dystopian novels (like Divergent by Veronica Roth) just keep me wanting more! My shelf is packed with this genre.

I guess I'm pretty mainstream considering that these two are very popular genres as of now, but these books are just so good!

What's your favourite genre? :)

  1. wild, that is the genre that is winning this war on blog hops today. hey do you hop often, i know others will join if you hop and comment, you have a wonderful blog and there are many that read your genre. your books go hand in hand with other bloggers that have chosen these genres too.
    happy reading to you.

  2. @Sidne : Really? Okay, thanks so much for the advice! I'm still so new to the blogosphere and I can use all the help I can get! x)

Hope you have an awesome weekend! :)

  3. New follower!! I rarely find teen bloggers so i knew i had to check out your blog and i love it!! =]

I need to read the mortal instruments SO BAD and i still havent been able to pick up the hunger games. Clearly its good, because everyone talks about it but i have no idea what is about and so im just scared to read it lol.

    Follow back here:

    Happy reading!!

  4. Hey Mimi!!
It's awesome that you love UF :) I am so with you. It's definitely my favorite, and Twilight influenced me as well (the book, not the movie *winks* Although I pretty much love those, too). Seriously, I need to get to reading the Hunger's in my TBR pile, and I'll be reading it next. There, promise made, and I WILL keep it lol
    Have a great weekend!

  5. I too found it real hard deciding. I'm mixing genres a bit too much sometimes. I do have two favourites though, but choosing... Nah, LOL. I went with both. ;)

New follower! My FF can be found here!

  7. Love your site! That buy or borrow thing is pure genius. I read your review on Paranormalcy and I'm 99% you and I are on the same wave length. (especially since you loved Nevermore!)

    Thanks for following! Following back.

Btw- defiantly hop around on the blog hop by commenting on other blogs. It's a really good way to be seen. I know you'll get lots of followers :)

  8. Hey new follower, I'm finding more and more that I am really enjoying dystopian as well. But, I also really like Steampunk, too. Those are a lot of fun and if you haven't read any, then I suggest The Girl In The Steel Corset and Leviathan by Scott Westerfield.

TMI is definitely one of my favorite series and I have yet to read The Hunger Games, but I'll get around to it eventually. All of the hype kinda turned me off a bit, but I'm thinking I'll just bite the bullet and start. :)

  9. I had a hard time deciding between urban fantasy and dystopian too! And I loved all the books you mentioned in your post. Well, except Twilight...I used to like it alot, but then the movie totally ruined the series for me):

New follower:D Great to see another teen around!

  10. Its so hard to pick a favourite genre isn't it?! I love Dystopian too - Divergent and the first Hunger Games were both amazing!

  11. Hi Mimi! I'm a new follower. I love the Mortal Instrument books. They just suck you in. But Twilight will always be my first love. I still connect better to that story than any other YA series.

Anyway, I love Twilight and The Hunger Games too, and have Mortal Instruments on my list, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I love your blog, so I'll be back! :-)
