Cover Reveal and Giveaway: ReAwakened by Ada Adams!

HI EVERYONE :)

If you've read my review of ReVamped, you'll have to know how much I loved it and Ada Adams! She's honestly one of the sweetest girls/authors/actresses who has a black belt in karate (cool, right?) that I've ever talked to. (She's also Canadian, which only makes her exponentially more awesome!)

That's why I'm so honoured to be able to take part in the cover reveal for the second book in the Angel Creek series, ReAwakened!

______

ReVamped (Angel Creek #1)
By Ada Adams
Release Date: February 20, 2012
Links: Goodreads | Amazon | Chapters | B&N | Mimi's Review
A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.
Here's a snippet from my review to remind you of the awesome:

With a fantastic cast of characters, a fun yet mysterious storyline, and vampires you'll wish lived in your world, ReVamped is a refreshing new take on the supernatural creatures we all know and love! I could never stop smiling at the vampire lore Ada Adams created. It was creative, fun, original, AWESOME. Definitely a novel you'll finish in one sitting!

And to reveal the gorgeous cover for the second book...

ReAwakened (Angel Creek #2)
By Ada Adams
Release Date: Fall 2012
Links: Goodreads
No summary available yet.
MY THOUGHTS: I'm soooooooooooooo super-duper excited for this!!! I know that the first book was a fun and fantastic take on vampires, but Ada promised us that this one is darker, sexier, bloodier, and a whole lot more serious... which sounds great to me!

And this cover.... I LOVE IT! Don't you? The theme is blood, as you can probably tell by the colour choice! ;)

Plus, Ada has been sharing a bunch of teasers on her website about ReAwakened, and apparently there's an appearance by a whole new guy! I just wanted to share this one snippet with you in case you haven't seen it yet, and boy did I swoon :')

______

Teaser:
“You finally understand what I’m saying, right? Or should I demonstrate the no clothes part for you?” he asked mischievously. My pulse quickened under his intense gaze.
“No demonstrations,” I ordered, looking around the car for an escape route.I’d rather jump out of a moving vehicle than see you naked.”
“Don’t lie to yourself, Dawn. I know for a fact that you’ve enjoyed the show at the pool. And I was only shirtless. Can you imagine—”
“No. I can’t. Nor do I want to,” I snapped, trying to keep my thoughts from drifting to the memory of that night. “Anyway, you don’t have to worry about Sebastian and me. There will be no nudity on either of our parts.”
“You say that now, but you won’t be able to resist your carnal urges.”
“I’m not getting any urges. Trust me.”
“Hmm…Is it because you’d rather get carnal with someone else?” He winked, smiling impishly.
I groaned, partly annoyed by XXX’s cockiness, partly worried about the possibility of “getting carnal” in general. “Why don’t you pull over and let me out of the car. I’ll run the rest of the way home.”
     “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure. I need to let off some steam.”
“I bet you do,” XXX smirked. “Meet us at the house. Feel free to take a shower when you get in. I’d advise that it be a cold one.”
Oh my goodness!! *fans self* Apparently revealing his name is a spoiler, so Ada just calls him XXX for now. Are you as excited to figure out who this XXX guy is as I am??

______

Giveaway:

Because Ada is awesome, she's offering one ARC of ReAwakened for a random person who comments on a cover reveal post! So if you leave your thoughts, you're automatically entered into the draw. And as a girl who loved the first book, I really think you're going to want to get this sequel in advance! ;)

For those of you who don't win the ARC, I think ReAwakened will be available on Netgalley in September if you're interested. So look out for that! :)

Cover Reveal x 8 : Ohmygoodness Edition!!

I have a gazillion covers I recently stumbled upon and this is what my face looks like right now:

O_O

How about you? :')

______

Sever (The Chemical Garden #3)
By Lauren DeStefano
Release Date: February 12, 2013
What if you knew exactly when you would die? In the not-too-distant future, genetic engineering has turned every newborn into a ticking time bomb — males only live to age 25 and females only live to age 20.

In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out. When 16-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by "the Gatherers" to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Rhine has only one purpose after she has been married to her new husband, Linden: to escape and find her twin brother.
>

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant to whom she is dangerously attracted, Rhine is desperate to learn the truth and protect those closest to her. But, as her sister wife Cecily keeps insisting, her role may be much bigger than that.

In the first two books of the Chemical Garden trilogy, Wither and Fever, Rhine struggles to escape the mansion and then to navigate the brutal world outside. Now in Sever, the third and final book, Rhine uncovers some shattering truths about the past that her parents never had the chance to tell her and the alarming implications regarding her own genes. She may be the one who can save the human race.
MY THOUGHTS: The first cover will always be my favourite, but that doesn't stop my excitement for this one! I love how the cover model looks so much... happier and healthier more confident than the first two. She looks like she's glowing, and I hope that reflects how Rhine will feel in this book! *prays for HEA* :)

______

Perfect Scoundrels (Heist Society #3)
By Ally Carter
Due Date: February 5, 2013
Kat is a girl who is used to getting—or stealing—everything she wants. But telling the truth to the boy she likes? Now that's a cat of a different color.

When Kat's on-again off-again boyfriend, Hale, suddenly inherits his family's billion dollar company, Kat gets a tip-off that the will is a fake. Trapped between a rock and a hard place, how can she tell Hale that he might be living a lie?

Critics and fans alike have fallen for Heist Society (no conning necessary). With more mystery, non-stop action, romance and humor, this third novel in the hit series is just as irresistible.
MY THOUGHTS: I have this epic love for everything that Ally Carter writes (since her Gallagher Girls series was probably one of the first that made me love reading in sixth grade), and this is just making me giddy with excitement! Who doesn't want more W.W. Hale the Fifth? :')

Plus: He's on the cover!!!!

Audrey Whitticomb has nothing to fear. Her mother is the superhero Morning Star, the most deadly crime-fighter in the Twin Cities, so it’s hard for Audrey not to feel safe. That is, until she’s lured into the sweet night air by something human and not human—something with talons and teeth, and a wide, scarlet smile.

Now Audrey knows the truth: her mom doesn’t fight crime at night. She fights Harrowers—livid, merciless beings who were trapped Beneath eons ago. Yet some have managed to escape. And they want Audrey dead, just because of who she is: one of the Kin.

To survive, Audrey will need to sharpen the powers she has always had. When she gets close to someone, dark corners of the person’s memories become her own, and she sometimes even glimpses the future. If Audrey could only get close to Patrick Tigue, a powerful Harrower masquerading as human, she could use her Knowing to discover the Harrowers’ next move. But Leon, her mother’s bossy, infuriatingly attractive sidekick, has other ideas. Lately, he won’t let Audrey out of his sight.

When an unthinkable betrayal puts Minneapolis in terrible danger, Audrey discovers a wild, untamed power within herself. It may be the key to saving her herself, her family, and her city. Or it may be the force that destroys everything—and everyone—she loves.

Until I Die by Amy Plum
(Revenants #2)
Release Date: May 8, 2012
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.

As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.
Isn't this cover just GORGEOUS? I adored the first book and I really love the whole idea of the revenants, so I'm pretty pumped for this to come out!

Cover Reveal: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

And in case you can't see Daemon's gorgeous eyes...

Book: Obsidian
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: December 6, 2011
Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Goodreads . Blog . Twitter
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, outhouses, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring. Until I spotted my hot neighbor with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marked me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and the mark he left on me has me lit up like Las Vegas strip to the bad guys. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is.

And then things got really bad…
Hot alien neighbors? If that doesn't sound amazing, I don't know what does!

Obsidian comes out this December, written by the amazing Jennifer L. Armentrout (who is also the author of Half-Blood, which I recently read, loved, and reviewed here)!

And another super-cool thing is that the main character is just your regular book blogger, just like the rest of us! How fun is that?

What do you think? :)

-Mimi
