Waiting on Wednesday: The Last Echo

Time for another amazing Wednesday! :)

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by the awesome Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating! This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

The Last Echo by Kimberly Derting
In the end, all that's left is an echo...
Violet kept her morbid ability to sense dead bodies a secret from everyone except her family and her childhood-best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Jay Heaton. That is until forensic psychologist Sara Priest discovered Violet's talent and invited her to use her gift to track down murderers.
Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it's Violet's job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice. When Violet discovers the body of a college girl killed by "the girlfriend collector" she is determined to solve the case. But now the serial killer is on the lookout for a new "relationship" and Violet may have caught his eye....

Series: The Body Finder #3

I love this series so much because it's creepy yet cool, intense yet sweet, and a mystery yet a supernatural book at the same time! :) And it also puts my weakness for best friend romances to the test because Jay is seriously a book boyfriend you will ADORE. ♥ But I can't be the only one intrigued about Rafe as well!

WHAT BOOK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

  1. I like your pick! I "discovered" Kimberly Derting by reading The Pledge first and only then began the Body Finder. And I share your intrigue. ;)

My WoW this week is Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

  3. Hi Mimi! I'm also extremly excited for The last Echo! Jay is one of my many book boyfriends! my top one is Adrian Ivashkov from the book I'm am waiting for this week, The Golden lily. I would to get my hands on a copy of that book!

  5. Oh, gosh, that cover! I know a lot of people disliked the first, and especially the second book, but I'm a HUGE fan of these books and I have to agree with you about Jay, he is the perfect book boyfriend! My only fear is the mention of this Rafe person. I'd hate to see a love triangle now, it seems entirely unacceptable for a couple like Violet and Jay. They were best friends first after all!
Anyway, I'm very excited about this. Thanks for reminding me! :)

  6. Best friend romances are great! I wasn't really into The Pledge but I've heard some better things about this series. The cover is so pretty too, I love the purple. :)

  9. AGH. I NEED to read Desires of the Dead already! I've had a copy since not long after release, but I've just never got around to reading it. And I don't know why, because I LOVED The Body Finder. Jay? Le sigh. Adore that boy and the relationship with Violet! <3 Okay, you have given me the much needed kick up the butt to continue on this series. I'll read DotD as soon as I have time to squeeze in a non-review book!

  19. I hear good things about this series. I so need to pick up the first book because the concept is intriguing. And I'm always down for a good paranormal mystery. And I'm like you.....I adore the relationships born out of friendship...to me it's the best kind.

  24. I bought the first book mostly because I found out there was a best friend romance (which I could not get enough of once I read Catching Jordan!♥). I soooo have to read this one as soon as possible! :D And it's great that you've also read and loved the second book, it gives me confidence to start the series right now. Cannot wait for the creepiness!

Have a wonderfully fantastic Wednesday, Mimi~♥

  25. I agree, the whole process of being Unwound is very creepy- and being awake! AAGH! That's scary! I don't like the bit at the end where someone is being Unwound- that's just downright creepy!

Thank you so much for commenting! And I'm thrilled you liked my review! (I hope you'll enter my current blog competition? I heart giving away books!)

  26. How have I STILL not read any of these books? OK, seriously, when I first saw the covers AGES ago, I thought they werre adult mystery/thrillers >___<
    MUST read them!

  27. Hey Mimi :) I haven't read this series yet! I'm wondering how come that happened, before the summary sounds SO good! Best-friend romances have become so underrated. They always end up being the jilted one in most books I read these days. I'm totally checking this out!

  28. Well...looks like it's about time I get started on The Body Finder series, yeah? EEEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm REALLY curious about Rafe<333 But..maybe there WON'T be any romance between him and Violet..since well...SHE ALREADY HAS A BOYFRIEND. *sigh* I'll have to get started on the first book now!

  29. Why haven't I read this series? I've heard incredible things about Jay. He's book boyfriend material, waiting to be discovered by yours truly. ;)

  30. I can't wait to read this series! I need to and SOON because it sounds so fantastic... I want itttt. Hope this one is worth the wait too! :D

  31. I think what you published made a lot of sense. However, consider
this, what if you typed a catchier post title? I am not saying your content is not good, however suppose you
added a post title that makes people want more? I mean "Waiting on Wednesday: The Last Echo"
is kinda vanilla. You ought to glance at Yahoo's home page and note how they create news headlines to get viewers interested. You might add a related video or a pic or two to get readers interested about what you've got
to say. In my opinion, it could make your website a little bit more interesting.
