Showcase Sunday #4

Sunday Showcase is a cool new meme created by Vicky @ Book, Biscuits, and Tea! It's a great new way for bloggers to showcase the books they've gotten in the past week, and I'm excited to take part. :)

______

FOR REVIEW:

Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent
Read this. Loved this. And holy wow, I never stop getting awed about how Rachel Vincent is a genius!! If you missed my interview with Tod and Nash on Friday, you can find that HERE. I just love this series SO much, and wowie zowie... Please buy this book! :')

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
Squeeeeeeeeeee! You don't know how excited I am to have managed to get my hands on a copy of this! Not only is the cover gorgeous, but Alice + zombies - the "wonder" in "wonderland" = absolutely awesome! Will be starting this one after my final exams!!

Dark Star by Bethany Frenette
I wanted to read this book ever since I heard it was about superheroes (and I watched The Avengers movie), so to have this gorgeous copy in my hands is like a dream come true! :)

What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton
I've heard this one is really sweet for a contemporary, so I couldn't help but be curious! It's about a girl who has one of those blacked out nights that I'm pretty sure a lot of people are familiar with. And I really like the cover!

BORROWED:

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter
Social Suicide by Gemma Halliday
Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker
The Selection by Keira Cass
The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey

WON:

Wrecked by Anna Davies
I won this from the AMAZING girls over at Bewitched Bookworms! I love their blog so much — you must, must, must go follow them if you aren't already! The book came with a waterproof e-reader case, which I thought was kinda funny since I don't have an e-reader LOL. But I'm passing it off to my cousin, who does, so she can read at the beach :)

BOUGHT:

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
I finished this one a few days ago and loved it like crazy! It's definitely one of my favourite contemporaries of all time and an absolute must read!  It's not a review book, but I'm going to desperately try to fit it into my review schedule for this month anyways :)

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
ADRIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN. That is all I have to say. :')

Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
This is one of my fave books of the year and my absolute fave werewolf book of all time. I would recommend it to anyone who likes werewolves, mysteries, awesomeness, or reading! ;)

______

And that's all I got for this week! Thanks so much to Harlequin Canada, Hachette Book Group Canada, and Bewitched Bookworms for the wonderful books!

I've been trying to hold back on requests and buying for the past few weeks since I have exams right now, but after two more on Monday and an interview on Tuesday, I'm home free for the summer!! *cheers* Then I'll be able to blog without worrying about homework and tests and getting up early in the morning. :')

I'm sorry about the whacky exam schedule, but everything will hopefully be back to normal after Tuesday! :) Thanks so much for putting up with me (and my constant reminders LOL — you're probably sick of hearing about them)!

Showcase Sunday #3

Sunday Showcase is a cool new meme created by Vicky @ Book, Biscuits, and Tea! It's a great new way for bloggers to showcase the books they've gotten in the past week, and I'm excited to take part. :)
FOR REVIEW:

The Blessed by Tonya Hurley
Doesn't this one look so creepy-cool? I'm a sucker for stories about stories about sisters, and this one has three of them. That counts for a triple whammy, right? ;)

Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh
Oh my gosh!!! Isn't it beautiful?? When this one arrived in the mail, I literally gave a thousand-amped squeal because Nevermore was one of my favourite reads of 2010, and this was one of my most anticipated of 2012! I can't wait to start it tonight!

Fathomless by Jackson Pearce
I have this HUGE love for Jackson Pearce because no matter what she writes, it's always absolutely beautiful and creative. This one's about the sea creatures we know and love, but I'm postive she'll make it her own. :)

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
I already read and reviewed this book last week, and it was SO SO good! People are saying it was a lot like Dexter (which I don't know), but I DO know Criminal Minds, and if you love that show like I do, then you'll love this for sure! ;)

WON:

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I won these from Jennifer L. Armentrout, and she was awesome enough to sign them both to me too! Both of these books (and everything else JLA writes) are five star reads for me, so it made me happy to have signed finished copies next to my ARCs!

BORROWED:

Bewitching by Alex Flinn
Gilt by Katherine Longshore

Getting books that I'm always excited about is SO bad for summative month at school, but I wouldn't trade them in for the world! Thank you so much to Simon & Schuster Canada, Hachette Book Group Canada, and Jennifer L. Armentrout for the beautiful books!

And I couldn't be at BEA this year because of school and me being Canadian and all, but I hope everyone who did go had a blast! I would love to hear all about your epic adventures. Maybe we can meet up next year? ;)

Showcase Sunday #2

Sunday Showcase is a cool new meme created by Vicky @ Book, Biscuits, and Tea! It's a great new way for bloggers to showcase the books they've gotten in the past week, and I'm excited to take part. :)

FOR REVIEW:

Mister Death's Blue-Eyed Girls by Mary Downing Hahn
I've never heard of this one before, but doesn't it sound really good? It's about a guy who gets accused of murder even though he's innocent, and the girl who believes him. Yay for mysteries!

Pilgrims Don't Wear Pink by Stephanie Kate Strohm
Tell me you didn't look at this book and think, "That is SO Mimi!" Because even my mom took one look at the cover and pegged it as my kind of book LOL. I'll be starting this one soon! :)

Enchanted by Alethea Kontis
I actually already read & reviewed an ARC of this one a few months ago (you can read my review HERE), but I loved it so much that having a gorgeous finished copy come was a really nice surprise! I'll probably end up gifting it to a friend to share the love like I always do with extra copies :)

The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze
I just finished reading this one last night and surprisingly enjoyed it! I'll be reviewing this book sometime this week, so stay tuned!

Winter White by Jen Calonita
Soooooooooooo excited to read this one! I crazily-adored the first book, Belles, and you don't even know how pumped up I am to be able to meet up with my favourite girls, Mira and Izzie, again! It may not be coming out until October, but I'm starting it ASAP! ;)

GIFTED:

A signed A Temptation of Angels bookmark and book plate from Michell Zink! Thank you so much, Michelle! They really go perfectly with the copy of A Temptation of Angels that I already owned. I still haven't read it yet, but as soon as my review schedule clears up, I definitely will :)

BORROWED:

New Girl by Paige Harbison
This book was heavily hyped up by the usual blogs I follow when it first came out, some good, some bad... But I have to admit that the main reason I want to read this book is because I've heard that the MC's name isn't revealed until the very end, and I really want to know what it is! x)
Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
This is going to be my first book by Maria V. Snyder! I tried to get Posion Study but they don't seem to have that one in my library anymore... Still, I've been recommended MVS since day one, and it's about time I found out what the hype's about! :)

I will never, ever, EVER get tired of getting books! You have to be a hard-core reader to understand that, which I'm sure all of you are too ;) Thank you so much to the fantastic representatives of Thomas Allen & Son and Hachette Book Group Canada for sending these squee-worthy books to me, and to Michelle Zink for the sweet bookmark and book plate!

Showcase Sunday #1

Thanks to the awesome tips from you awesome people (hi there!), I've decided to participate in the new meme created by Vicky @ Book, Biscuits, and Tea, Sunday Showcase! It's a cool new way for bloggers to showcase the books they've gotten in the past week, and I'm excited to take part. :)

FOR REVIEW:

Croak by Gina Damico

I think all of you need to go get your hands on Croak ASAP — I already read, loved, and reviewed it HERE! And I don't read very many middle grade reads, but mermaids and ghosts? I just had to say yes! Will be reviewing these for my blog tour dates soon :) Thanks so much to Thomas Allen & Son and Sourcebooks for sending these!

BORROWED:

The Last Echo by Kimberly Derting
The List by Siobhan Vivian
Haven by Kristi Cook
A Million Suns by Beth Revis

BOUGHT:

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Already read and loved CoLS and Insurgent! Have I been reminded of how both Cassie and Veronica are pure geniuses? YES. Heck YES. :')

That's everything for this week! I'm trying to cut back on how many books I request (both from publishers and from the library) because my TBR pile seriously towers over my house, but sometimes I can't help myself. x) Thanks so much again to Thomas Allen & Son and Sourcebooks!

And I have this habit of assuming that everyone has the same holidays as we do here in Canada (or as I do in my school LOL), but I hope you're all having a great weekend, regardless of whether or not it's Victoria Day for you on Monday or not! :)
