COVER LOVE: Bye Bye, Winter Edition!

Winter officially ended a few days ago, which I think is YAY-worthy (even though we've been having strangely warm weather here in Canada anyways haha)! :) But to celebrate the hopeful promise of warmer weather, I thought it'd be cool to check out some summery covers like these ones:

Crewel by Gennifer Albin
(The Crewel World #1)
Release Date: October 16, 2012

Incapable. Awkward. Artless.
That’s what the other girls whisper behind her back. But sixteen year-old Adelice Lewys has a secret: she wants to fail.
Gifted with the ability to weave time with matter, she’s exactly what the Guild is looking for, and in the world of Arras, being chosen as a Spinster is everything a girl could want. It means privilege, eternal beauty, and being something other than a secretary. It also means the power to embroider the very fabric of life. But if controlling what people eat, where they live and how many children they have is the price of having it all, Adelice isn’t interested.
Not that her feelings matter, because she slipped and wove a moment at testing, and they’re coming for her—tonight.
Now she has one hour to eat her mom’s overcooked pot roast. One hour to listen to her sister’s academy gossip and laugh at her Dad’s stupid jokes. One hour to pretend everything’s okay. And one hour to escape.
Because once you become a Spinster, there’s no turning back.

Dreamless by Josephine Angelini
(Starcrossed #2)

As the only Scion that can enter Hades at will, Helen descends to the Underworld in search of a way to overcome the Furies and end the cycle of revenge that has cursed the Scions. But she’s running out of time. Each descent weakens her both in mind and spirit. A mysterious stranger might be her only salvation, but the price may be her love for Lucas Delos.

As an unforgettable love triangle emerges, Josephine Angelini’s compelling saga becomes ever more intricate and spellbinding. The eagerly awaited sequel to the internationally bestselling Starcrossed, Dreamless delivers with a huge emotional impact that will leave readers satisfied—and longing for more.

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them… until one summer evening Jase Garrett climbs her trellis and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love and stumble through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first romance, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own - even as she keeps him a secret from her disapproving mother and critical best friend. Then the unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
A debut novel about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Through To You by Emily Hainsworth

A romantic sci-fi thriller about love and second chances.
Camden Pike has been grief-stricken since his girlfriend, Viv, died. Viv was the last good thing in his life: helping him rebuild his identity after a career-ending football injury, picking up the pieces when his home life shattered, and healing his pain long after the meds wore off. And now, he’d give anything for one more glimpse of her. But when Cam makes a visit to the site of Viv’s deadly car accident, he sees some kind of apparition. And it isn’t Viv.
The apparition’s name is Nina, and she’s not a ghost. She’s a girl from a parallel world, and in this world, Viv is still alive. Cam can’t believe his wildest dreams have come true. All he can focus on is getting his girlfriend back, no matter the cost. But things are different in this other world: Viv and Cam have both made very different choices, things between them have changed in unexpected ways, and Viv isn’t the same girl he remembers. Nina is keeping some dangerous secrets, too, and the window between the worlds is shrinking every day. As Cam comes to terms with who this Viv has become and the part Nina played in his parallel story, he’s forced to choose—stay with Viv or let her go—before the window closes between them once and for all.

You can probably tell how much I love finding new covers by now. ;) But don't they just make you really excited for summer? We still have to go through spring to get there, but that doesn't mean we can't dream about sun-soaking and beach-swimming and sight-seeing!

I hope that wherever you guys are, the weather is as nice as these covers! :)

What book are you most excited for?

  1. Oh my gosh, I love the spring feeling of all these covers! ♥ They're all so pretty (although Dreamless seems darker... more like spring twilight :) ). I always fangirl over covers on the internet, but I'm sure they're even more gorgeous in real life. Can't wait to have them on my shelf, too!

To tell you the truth, here the weather is a bit crazy. One day we have to go in shortsleeves, and the day after it's cold and rainy and windy and you can't get out without a coat. Oh, well, that's spring in Spain! hahaha

It's Friday, Mimi! Yaaaaay! I hope you enjoy your day, have fun, and think there are only a few hours until it's weekend :)
    *sends hearts* ♥♥

  2. Oh, love all the summery covers, Mimi! They're sooo pretty and gorgeous! I love the light using in the covers, especially on My Life Next Door and Through To You! So can't wait to read all the pretty books! <3

The weather is really hot here on Indonesia! We have dry season until October, so I have to endure the hot weather for *gasp* seven months more! On the bright side, rain doesn't fall often in this season, so it makes perfect weather for beach trip! <3

Have a lovely weekend, Mimi! :)

  3. Definitely most excited about Crewel, but I think my favorite cover of the bunch is My Life Next Door. Something about it is perfect!

  4. Oh wow Mimi! I absolutely LOVE every single one of those covers! They all sound like fantastic reads too, so naturally I am definitely making sure they are added to my ever growing TBR shelf. This summer is going to filled with so many books and so little time, but reading outside is the best, so it's worth it!

Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend Mimi! <3<3<3

  5. Ooooo how pretty is Crewel? Love that one! The others are beautiful as well (and I'm dying to read all of them), but Crewel with it's fun, bright colors really catches my eye. It also needs to go on my list asap. Happy Friday Mimi!

  6. I think I'm most excited for My Life Next Door; my heart lies in contemporary! But the cover for Crewel is extraordinarily beautiful-the way the colors are!

  7. Oh wow oh wow oh wow. Through To You sounds AMAZING!! And... uh... Crewel? that is an INSANELY pretty cover! EEEEEEEE! I love these posts, Mimi! THanks for sharing :D

  8. Bring on the sunshine! It's funny how you decided to post this when today was boiling here. I love that! :)

Those covers are great, Mimi. I especially love the cover for Crewel. It confused the hell out of me at first when I couldn't work out that the thing in the corner was a girls face, but I love the colours! Awesome choices. :)

  9. Unusally warm weather in Canda! What!? We have had snow every day here in Oregon and we don't usually get much snow, in fact it was a record. I am getting fed up with this crappy weather, The sun is out today and it nearly blinded me, I haven't seen it in so long. Anyway, the covers afe great, I especially love the first one for Crewel, plus it sounds really good! I can't wait for the sun! Have a great weekend, Mimi!

  10. I can't wait for My Life Next Door to come out!! I just love the title and the cover <3 <3

Oh, and the weather here is fine :P :) The problem is I just have my winter jacket here and it's kind of too hot for it damn :P Tonight I am heading to the cinema to watch The Hunger Games!! So excited!! :) ;) Have fun Mimi!! :* <3 <3

  11. Oh, gosh, that Crewel cover must be one of the prettiest covers I've ever seen! The description sounds very good too, I can't belive I have to wait until October to read it.
And Through To You... 'a romantic sci-fi thriller'... WHOA! Stop right there. I don't need to know anything else. I think I might be preordering that one.
    Fantastic post, Mimi! :)

  12. I haven't heard of Crewel before but I AM SO DYING FOR DREAMLESS and My Life Next Door! SO EXCITED FOR BOTH OF THEM! <3

  13. Duuuude...Mimi I loooove this list!! I was just talking to my sister the other day, and we were saying how she really wants me to get an ARC of "Crewel" (obviously I want one as well, haha!), and how we should check to see if the cover is up...and then it was! And we were both STUNNED by how beautiful is is!! :D

The others on here are beautiful as well! And I love what you named this Cover love :) Happy reading!

  14. How cute is the cover of My Life Next Door. I always love the paranormal book covers but I always want to step into the covers of the contemp books. They always seem like such amazing lives even if it's complicated!

  15. EEEEEE! The cover of DREAMLESS is sooo GORGEOUS <333 I just hope that's the final cover for the AUS. edition :S The cover of Starcrossed was TERRIBLE compared to the US/CAN one! Ooohh I haven't heard of Crewel before, but I'm adding it to my list RIGHT NOW! Love the cover and concept <333

  16. I. AM. SO. EXCITED. FOR. CREWEL. Such an amazing and unique premise, I cannot wait. And the cover! Pretty! And and and Through To You! I just love how... rich the colours feel on that and seriously, parallel worlds?! OMG. Someting that has ALWAYS fascinated me. Need, need, need, NOW.

Ugh, you know I hate reading these posts? (I KID, I LOVE!) You always make me so much more excited for books... it's a bad thing when release date is so far away :P DAMN YOU!

  17. I had CREWEL on my list but hadn't seen the cover yet...ohhh my! I love all the swirly colors and the red, red lips on that model. This whole post and the "welcome spring" mode puts me in a really good mood. Love the preview, Mimi--hope springtime is there to stay for you. :)

    Wendy @ The Midnight Garden

  18. My Life Next Door is one of my most anticipated books for 2012. It sounds amazing and the cover is SO GORGEOUS. And totally summer-y. Wonderful selections, Mimi, as usual! Crewel is so unique and Dreamless is just beautiful, like Starcrossed. Can't wait for your next Cover Love post!

  19. Crewel doesn't really float my boat.... but I LOVE the cover!!!! And My Life Next Door... I cant WAIT!!!!

  20. I LOVE these covers. Especially Crewel and Through To You... And My Life Next Door... Aw, who am I kidding? Lets just say all of them! *excited* And they sound great too. Awesome edition. :D

  21. Thru to You sounds ... wow. I like these covers, they do sort of have a spring look to them. Today I bought "The Art of Hearing Heartbeats" and "The Snow Child." I am still trudging my way thru "Twilight," And "A Discovery of Witches."

  22. Um, yeah :P Our "winter" has been pretty non-existent, huh? There's just so much... sunshine. It freaks me out. MY FAVOURITE SEASON IS DISAPPEARING :(

If I get all these beautiful covers in return though, how much can I really complain? LOVE THEM! Aaaaand I've now discovered 2 new books - how do you do it?!

Crewel sounds amazing. Sorry Adelice... I'm really sympathetic to your situation and everything but I REALLY HOPE you become a Spinster because it sounds fascinating and like it would entertain me! Haha, the book sounds simply magnificent and unbelievably unique. I love all of the colours used in the cover!

Dreamless! I loved Starcrossed and it ends on the biggest WTH. I can't wait to get started on the sequel! I won't say too much in fear of spoiling but I just really want to see Helen and Lucas' journey continue <3 The cover! It's so pretty! I hope it's as shiny/rainbow-y as the first one was :D

My Life Next Door has the perfect summery cover. It looks like a classic chick lit. summer read but I love that the summary implies it will be much more!

+ that last one, Through To You. "A romantic sci-fi thriller." I AM INTRIGUED! I love genre crossing and it sounds like Camden will have some pretty huge decisions to make. I am already anticipating all of the secrets that will be unveiled and it sounds like the perfect read to spice up my summer reading collection.

  23. I love it when you do these posts!! They're so pretty, I love colourful covers and these are quite eye catching. Thanks so much for sharing. :)

  24. I like all of those covers. And yes goodbye and good riddance to winter! I am LOVING the hot weather around my area. Gotta find some good summer reads.
