To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.

MY THOUGHTS:

A warning before you start this book: You won't be able to put it down! I made the mistake of starting it before I went to bed and ended up staying awake all night just to finish it. I've always loved dragons and this series only makes me love them more!

Vanish picks up right where Firelight left off the gap isn't even a day! with Jacinda and her family going back to the pride. The plot is so fast-paced and full of twists that I stayed on the edge of my seat, and there are a bunch of revelations that made my jaw drop.

I honestly adore Jacinda! I've read so many reviews that say she's indecisive and angsty, but I think that her flaws and actions make her feel so much more real and easy to relate to. And I swear, this romance will be the end of me one day. I LOVED the (non) draki-hunter Will to the moon and beyond, but even I have to admit that Cassian had his moments!

With a fast-paced plot, a quick writing style, and tons of surprises, Vanish is definitely a one-sit read! If you haven't started this series yet, then I definitely recommend that you do because this is a cool series you don't want to miss! :)

BUY or BORROW?: Am I the only one who is IN LOVE with these covers, scales and all?? I think this series is worth being purchased (and not just for the pretty covers)!

  1. I didn't LOVE book one, but I'm still willing to give the sequel a try. Good to know that I'm in for some hot romantic moments though. And I never get tired of being exposed to the Draki lore.

  2. I have a love-hate relationship with book 1. I couldn't stop reading it even though the characters annoyed the hell out of me. I have a feeling that's going to happen with book 2 too. I still want to read this though. And oh you're not the only one who's in love with the covers. I, myself, am in lesbians with them.

  5. I was so all about Will after Firelight, Cassian really wasn't even a blip on my radar, but after this book? He might be winning me over a little bit:) Love this series so much, so glad you're enjoying it too Mimi!

  6. Great review! Gah, I still haven't even picked up book one, but I'm curious... I did try reading the first book but never really got into it. Now though, I'm intrigued again after seeing all of the great reviews for this series; especially book two! I wonder if I should pick it up again... o:

  8. I've only read one book about dragons. How lame is that? I feel so back and forth when it comes to the series. Sometimes I read reviews that make me think I shouldn't bother, then I read reviews like yours that make me think this series is a MUST read!

Thanks for the enthusiastic review. I think it might be time for me to try this series. You're right, I don't want to miss out on a character like Jacinda.

  9. I'm actually looking forward to reading this one, even though I wasn't super excited about Firelight haha. I'll have to get this one from the library, since I don't own Firelight anyways HA! Great review, I'll have to pick it up soon :)

  11. MIMI!!! It's seriously like you took a mind-reading machine and hooked it up to my brain and then wrote a review! (: I just love the way SJ writes because it's so easy to read (no need for a thesaurus LOL) and it's so easy to get lost in. Jacinda was an awesome MC & I don't think people give her enough credit.

    Fantastic review, Mimi-Doll! I can't wait until Hidden comes out! <3333333 (:

  12. I wasn't a huge fan of Firelight but I'll probably end up reading this one just because I kind of what to know what happens next. I'm curious to see whether my opinion of Cassian will improve.

  14. I love this serie! And I think the covers of both books are amazing!
Now that you let me think about it, I agree with with you that Jacinda's decisions makes her more real. I haven't thought about it :P But I must say I didn't agree with all her decisions.. But the story is just so great! I can't wait for the third book to come out to see what will they do! :)

  18. I could have thrown the book, I was so mad. I could feel the pages dwindling down as the climax built and I just humphed and shook the pages and groaned and writhed around… which is really dramatic for a book I don’t want to rate very highly. It’s just… it’s not a book!!!! This is the first half of the ending!!!!! And I don’t have less questions, I have MORE. And that’s just unfair!!!! I don’t recommend anyone read this book until the final one comes out in the fall. SO THERE!! Only if you want some amazing kissing scenes with well described hand placement and breathing with lip biting and… uncontrollable hormones that draw out the inner dragon... Well, this book does have that.

Playing mass effect multiplayer can be played on any kind of entertainment and media device such as computers, mobile phones, video game manufacturers haven't yet given the market an indestructible media for games. Each line in this game is a tricky gamble for publishers, one requiring a deep commitment of time and money. Whether we play violent mass effect multiplayer, any positive effects are outweighed by the negative.
